Register to Coach

Thank You for volunteering! We are really hoping to make this the best season yet!

Background check:

If you are a returning coach from Spring and you completed the background check, and SafeSport after 2/1/22 you don’t not need to do these steps again. They will transfer over. Our Club Registrar will reach out to you if you are missing any items.

For New Coaches or Returning Coaches that don’t meet the above circumstances please follow these instructions:

The Background check needs to be completed 1st. This takes a couple days to process and can hold up the hold process.

There are 2 ways to complete the background check. You can do it using OYSA’s Affinity or you can complete it though Sports Connect when you register as a volunteer. This is a new feature that was part of our most recent update.

Here is the link for OYSA’s Affinity:
https://oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com/reg/Public/registration/login.aspx?domain=oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com&language=english&sessionguid=

If you are having login issues (and you might) please contact OYSA – they are the only ones who can access your account.

Email to Desia at [email protected] if you need to reset your password. The sooner you can complete this the better. I takes a couple days for OYSA to get the results.

How to register as a volunteer in Sports Connect Instructions

SafeSport:

Complete SafeSport Training:

www.safesport.org (this will need to be loaded into Affinity the system you do your background check (link above) if you cannot load it, please send me a copy)

I have included the updated SafeSport Training instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Concussion Training:

All Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers need to complete a free concussion training. You can choose anyone you would like to take.

Here is a link to a free one I found. https://www.nays.org/additional-training/preview/concussion-training.cfm

You can either upload this to your Affinity account, email it to me to upload or bring a copy to the Coaches Meetings. I can scan them and add them to your account.

This needs to be in your Affinity account. (Same account as your background check)

https://oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com/reg/Public/registration/login.aspx?domain=oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com&language=english&sessionguid=

If you cannot upload your DL you can email me a picture of the front. I will upload it for you.

We will be using this for your coaches cards. You have to have these at the games per OYSA. This needs to be in your Affinity account. (Same account as your background check)

https://oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com/reg/Public/registration/login.aspx?domain=oysa-oregoncity.sportsaffinity.com&language=english&sessionguid=

If you cannot upload your profile picture you can email it to me to upload for you.

If you click on one of the above links and it doesn't open please highlight it, right click to copy it and paste in your browser.

IMPORTANT CONCUSSION INFORMATION

  • Some very important legislation was passed in late June of 2013. This legislation is called Senate Bill 721. This bill relates to concussions and the education for coaches, referees, parents and players. All clubs are now required to insure that each coach and parents has received concussion education.
  • One of the areas the bill covers is that if a player is identified by a referee, coach or parent of possibly receiving a concussion during activities with the team, they will be removed from all activities until they have been cleared by a Doctor. For more information about this topic please be sure to contact us.
