OVERVIEW

The Oregon City Soccer Club is committed to providing the best possible youth sports experience for players age 4-18 and their families!  Our youth soccer programs are modified (scaled to be developmentally appropriate) for players aged 4 to 10 years old.  Please read Reasons for Small-Sided Play (published by US Youth Soccer) for additional information.

League Affiliation - The Oregon City Soccer Club is a member of the Willamette Youth Soccer Association under District 10 of Oregon Youth Soccer Association.

Season - 12 games in September - November

Games – Weekdays & Saturdays vs. other WYSA District 10 teams.

All local surrounding area.

Girls and boys play on single gender teams in separate leagues

Team Practices typically start in early August. The practice time is determined by the volunteer coaches who make every effort to find a time suitable for all players on the team.

Certified referees are scheduled through WYSA home club. Girls and boys play on separate teams in separate leagues. Team rosters have a maximum size set by age group. Teams play against teams from WYSA District 10. The rules for U-9 through U14 are developed and maintained by WYSA and coach/parents are responsible to read WYSA rules. Scores are not kept and league standings are not maintained. No WYSA trophies are awarded for this league. Shinguards and soccer cleats must be provided by each player.  The emphasis is on continued skill development and team play tactics.

AGE GROUPS

Ages for Soccer - All affiliates of OYSA agree that "AGE" is that of the player as of July 31 of the current year. Teams and ages are referred to as U (under) then an age. For example, 10 year olds play on U-11 teams.

U5-U8 Registration Fee Fall 2011 - $80.00
U9-U14 Registration Fee Fall 2011 - $90.00
Fee includes: OYSA Team Registration, OYSA Per Player Fee, Coaches and Managers Licensing and Insurance,
Misc. Fees, Field Costs for Games and Practices, Jersey.
Optional Costs:
Tournaments Various - dependent on coach
Each player provides their own shin guard, cleats, water, and ball

FINANCE
Upon selection and background check of the Team Manager, they shall keep all financial records of all monetary transactions, including all incoming and outgoing monies. This information shall be provided to the Classic Coordinator on a monthly basis and shall include a record of the team's finances. All monies received from registration fees, fundraisers, donations and sponsors are recorded by the Team Manager and given to the Classic Coordinator to be deposited by the Club Treasurer and documented on each team’s ledger.

FUNDRAISING
OCSC per player cost is the minimum cost to cover the club and teams expenses.  Fundraising will be necessary to fund any additional costs such as tournaments.  Teams are highly encouraged to raise money through fundraising activities.  It is likely that if your child plays classic soccer that he or she will be involved in some type of fundraising activity that will be coordinated by the individual team managers and authorized by the OCSC Board of Directors.  Fundraising provides players a growing opportunity for responsibility, team work and team unity.  All monies received from the individual teams will be documented on the teams’ ledger. All sponsorship checks need to be made payable to Oregon City Soccer Club and will be documented on the teams’ ledger. A letter of gratitude will be sent to the sponsor with the Club’s EIN for tax recording purposes.

END OF SEASON CELEBRATIONS
Each team decides how much to collect from the players for a party and possible coaches' gifts.

COACHES

COACH SELECTION
Coaches for each age level will be selected based on their submittal of a coaches application to the Club. The Head Coach will coordinate and recruit the selection of coaches. Contact our head coach or registrar if you have questions.

ENTICEMENT OF PLAYERS
At NO time may any member of the Club entice a player and/or parent/guardian to leave his or her registered team. No member of the Club may entice a player and/or parent/guardian with the intent of offering material items, monetary compensation or guaranteed sponsorship.

GUEST PLAYERS
Any coach requesting a guest player to participate in a game or tournament must first seek the permission of the guest players’ head coach and the permission of the Classic Coordinator. The intent of a guest player is to fill an empty position for a team. The guest players must meet the eligibility requirements for Oregon Youth Soccer Association and/or the tournament in which they are guest playing.

REMOVAL OF ASSIGNMENTS
A Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager may be removed from their assignment for failure to follow the rules of the Club, or for improper behavior (improper behavior is any actions that are in violation of the law, failing to support the interests of the organization, failing to support the majority of the organization, foul or abusive language or threatening behavior), or for otherwise acting in a manner detrimental to the interests of the Club. Any removal of an assignment will be effective immediately.
