OCSC – Pledge of Good Conduct
I, parent and player, of the Oregon City Soccer Club’s team have read and understand the following code of conduct. I agree to follow these principles – that promote healthy competition, sportsmanship, accountability, and overall good citizenship within the community. To fulfill this expectation, every parent and player is required to agree to the pledge.
OCSC players will…
1.
Work to maintain good academic standing in school.
2.
Not use profanity at any time, especially at practices and games.
3.
Accept responsibility for all fouls and not talk back to the referee.
4.
Not retaliate against any foul.
5.
Shake hands with their opponents after each game.
6.
Notify their coaches/manager at least one day before their scheduled practice or game if they are not able to attend.
7.
Treat coaches, teammates, referees, spectators and opponents with courtesy and respect.
8.
Not criticize the play of others and not blame others for mistakes.
9.
Obey any tem rules coaches put in place.
OCSC parents are expected to have a positive, supportive influence on their child’s soccer experience in all dealings with others involved with the team and to assist with the responsibilities necessary to support the team.
OCSC parents must…
1.
Express encouragement not instruction.
2.
Never express criticism for players of either team, referees or coaching team during a game.
3.
Never confront a coach or team manager with emotional issues in front of players.
4.
Keep communication amongst parents open and positive.
Remember that we are here for the good of the game, and that we participate in the spirit of fair play. We will exhibit courtesy and sportsmanship at all activities. We are here to learn the game of soccer and develop skills to the best of our ability. We will win without boasting, lose without excuses and never quit.
We, the undersigned, have read, understand and agree to abide by the above rules and guidelines. W e also agree and understand that persistent irresponsibility and disrespectful behavior will result in dismissal by the coaches of the OCSC
team.
